Biography

Sandra Pupatello has a proven record of fighting for her community. She was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Windsor West, and served in several senior cabinet positions including Minister of Industry where she led trade delegations designed to attract jobs and investments to Ontario.

Following her successful career in politics, Sandra provided strategic advice to companies looking to expand trade and business opportunities. She currently sits on the board of Martinrea International Inc. – a global auto parts maker. She volunteers her time promoting progressive policy with a focus on trade and opportunities that are of value to Canadian businesses through her work with the Asia Pacific Foundation, Pearson Centre and Ontario Global 100.

Her ongoing commitment to community betterment and mentoring women who aspire to lead, led to her receiving the Women's Executive Network’s (WXN) 2014 Top 100 Canada’s Most Powerful Women award. She was recently awarded the Business Woman of the Year by the ICCO in Toronto, Canada, and the Innovation and Global Growth Award by the Bank of Montreal, one of Canada’s largest banks.

Sandra is a life-long resident of Windsor. She is married to Jim Bennett, a lawyer, graduate of the University of Windsor Law School and an author. She will work tirelessly with Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team to strengthen her community.
